My name is Cooper and I’m a service dog, specifically a guide dog.

My lady Patricia, Pat for short, says I make her life better while avoiding obstacles and trouble when we’re out.

She gets distracted at times on our walks to places, but that works well for me, why? Because I’ll casually walk us through the park, or the food court, depending on the day. And including these detours, I always get us to work¹ on time.

So, about some of the crazy things people say to guide dogs.

I should mention that most people are super nice, courteous, and complimentary, but some of their comments make me scratch my head.

First, an example of a reasonably ludicrous question, I’ll get to utterly ludicrous in a sec.

Why are you making the poor dog work?

The truth is, she isn’t making me work. If I was not interested in working I’d just quit.
